Concrete Countertop Repair
Hairline shrinkage cracks, surface pitting, worn sealers, and deep stains are the reality of concrete countertops. We fix all of it without removing your slab.

Concrete countertops are poured in place or precast, and both types develop issues unique to the material. Shrinkage cracks appear as the concrete continues to cure, even years after installation. Surface pitting (pin holes) is common in hand-troweled slabs. The sealer wears away in high-traffic zones, leaving those areas vulnerable to staining from coffee, oil, and wine. Our repair process patches cracks with flexible, colour-matched compounds that move with the concrete rather than cracking again. We fill pitting with a skim coat, remove stains with alkaline poultices, and re-seal with food-safe penetrating sealers or topical coatings depending on your finish preference. We also refinish surfaces: changing from a glossy topical seal to a natural matte penetrating seal, or vice versa.

Frequently Asked Questions
My concrete countertop has hairline cracks. Is that normal?
Yes. Concrete shrinks as it cures and can develop hairline cracks for years after installation. They're cosmetic, not structural. We fill them with flexible, colour-matched compound that moves with the concrete so they don't reappear.
The sealer on my concrete countertop is peeling and flaking. What went wrong?
Topical sealers (the kind that sit on the surface) can peel if moisture gets trapped underneath, if the wrong product was used, or if it wasn't prepped properly. We strip the old sealer, let the concrete dry, and reapply with a compatible sealer.
My concrete countertop has tiny holes all over the surface. Can you fix that?
Those are pin holes (bug holes) from air trapped during pouring. We fill them with a colour-matched slurry, sand smooth, and re-seal. The result is a much smoother, more uniform surface.
Can you change my concrete countertop from glossy to matte?
Yes. We strip the existing topical sealer and replace it with a penetrating sealer that gives a natural, matte look while still protecting against stains. The reverse is also possible.
How is concrete countertop repair different from stone repair?
Concrete is a manufactured material that shrinks, expands, and absorbs stains differently than natural stone. It requires flexible repair compounds, alkaline (not acidic) stain treatments, and specific sealer types. Using stone repair methods on concrete will fail.
