Surface Sealing & Protection
Pour water on your countertop. If it darkens within 30 seconds, your seal is gone and every spill is a potential permanent stain. We fix that in under 2 hours.

Natural stone is porous at a microscopic level. Even dense granites have capillary channels that absorb liquids. An impregnating sealer fills those channels with a hydrophobic compound that repels water and oil while allowing water vapour to escape (the stone 'breathes'). This is fundamentally different from a topical coating that sits on the surface and can peel, yellow, or trap moisture. We exclusively use premium impregnating sealers that penetrate 2-3mm below the surface. They don't change the stone's appearance, don't create a film, and provide 3-5 years of protection depending on stone density and use. Application requires the stone to be perfectly clean and dry, which is why we include deep cleaning and a drying period as part of every sealing service.
Why Choose Us
Impregnating, Not Topical
Our sealers penetrate into the stone. No peeling, yellowing, or surface film.
3-5 Year Protection
Premium sealers last 3-5 years on dense granite, 1-3 years on more porous marble.
2-Hour Application
Clean, dry, apply, buff. Most kitchens are sealed and usable within 2 hours.
Oil & Water Repellent
Both oleophobic and hydrophobic protection. Guards against oil splatter and water.
Zero Appearance Change
The stone looks and feels exactly the same. No sheen, no darkening, no film.
The Water Drop Test
We test before and after. You'll see the difference in absorption immediately.
Our Process
- Water-drop test to check current seal status
- Deep-clean the entire surface
- Allow stone to fully dry (critical step)
- Apply impregnating sealer in even coats
- Allow 15-20 minutes for penetration
- Buff off excess and verify with water test
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my countertop needs resealing?
Place a few drops of water on the surface. If the stone darkens within 1-2 minutes, the seal has worn off and the stone is absorbing liquids. If water beads up and stays on the surface, your seal is still effective.
Does quartz need sealing?
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous by design. The polymer resin that binds it creates a sealed surface at the factory. Applying a sealer to quartz is unnecessary and can actually leave a hazy residue.
What's the difference between impregnating and topical sealers?
Impregnating sealers penetrate into the stone and repel liquids from within. Topical sealers coat the surface like varnish. Topical sealers can peel, yellow, trap moisture, and change the stone's appearance. We only use impregnating sealers.
Can I seal my countertop myself with a store-bought product?
You can, but results vary. Consumer-grade sealers are often diluted and provide 6-12 months of protection. Professional-grade impregnating sealers are concentrated formulas that last 3-5 years. The application technique also matters. Uneven application leaves some areas unprotected.
Will sealing prevent all stains?
Sealing significantly reduces stain risk by giving you time to wipe up spills before they absorb. It's not bulletproof. A puddle of red wine left overnight on marble may still penetrate. But it turns a 30-second absorption window into a 30-minute one.
