About This Service

Kitchen renovations and appliance upgrades often require changing the countertop cutout, and most installers won't modify an existing slab. That's where we come in. We use water-cooled diamond blades to enlarge, reshape, or create entirely new openings in granite, quartz, marble, quartzite, and other stone countertops without removing the slab. The wet-cutting process suppresses dust and prevents thermal shock that can crack the stone. We cut corners with relief holes to prevent stress fractures, smooth all edges, and test-fit your appliance before finishing. We also fill old cutouts when you're downsizing, using a precisely cut stone insert colour-matched to your countertop.

Why Choose Us

Millimetre-Precise Cuts

We template from your actual appliance specs, not catalogue dimensions that may vary.

Stress Fracture Prevention

Corner relief holes and controlled cutting speed prevent cracks from radiating out.

Done in 2-3 Hours

Most enlargements are cut, finished, and ready for appliance install the same day.

Wet Diamond Cutting

Water-cooled blades suppress dust and prevent thermal shock to the stone.

Gas to Induction Conversions

Induction cooktops often need wider, shallower cutouts. We handle the conversion.

Downsizing? We fabricate and install a colour-matched insert for the unused opening.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm switching from a gas range to an induction cooktop. What changes are needed?

Induction cooktops are typically wider and shallower than gas ranges. We enlarge the width of your existing cutout and may need to adjust depth. The process takes 2-3 hours on-site without removing the countertop.

Is there a risk of cracking my countertop during cutting?

With proper technique, the risk is very low. We use slow, water-cooled diamond cuts and drill stress-relief holes at corners. The biggest risk factors are cutouts very close to edges or seams, which we assess before starting.

Can you make a cutout smaller instead of larger?

Yes. We fabricate a stone insert matched to your countertop colour, bond it into the excess opening, and finish the edges flush. The insert will be visible on close inspection but blends well from normal viewing distance.

My countertop has a crack radiating from the cooktop corner. Can you fix that?

Yes. Corner cracks are common when original cutouts lacked relief holes. We stabilize the crack with epoxy, then drill proper relief holes at all corners to prevent further spreading.

Do you handle the appliance installation too?

We handle the countertop modification only. We coordinate with your appliance installer or electrician for the appliance hookup. We can be on-site at the same time for a seamless process.
